Car batteries — testing, supply & fitting

A slow crank, a single click, or a dashboard that dims when you try to start — nine times out of ten it starts with the battery. We test properly rather than guess, and we stock replacements on site.

Signs you need this

  • Engine cranks slowly, especially in the morning or cold weather
  • A single click when you turn the key, nothing more
  • Dashboard lights dim or flicker when starting
  • Battery is more than 3–4 years old
  • You’ve needed a jump start more than once recently

What we do

We load-test the battery under real starting conditions rather than just checking voltage at rest, which catches batteries that read fine sitting still but can’t deliver the current needed to start the vehicle. We also check the charging system and connections, because a battery that keeps dying is sometimes a symptom of something else. Free battery testing, no appointment needed — see below.

What it costs

Testing is free. If you need a new battery, price depends on the size and type your vehicle needs — we stock Varta, Endurant and Motobatt, and we’ll show you the options and the price before fitting anything.

What we work on

Cars · 4WDs and utes · Boats · Caravans and motorhomes

Questions

Do I need to book for a battery test?
No — just come in. It’s free and doesn’t need an appointment.
How do you know it’s the battery and not something else?
We load-test it under real starting conditions and check the charging system and connections, so we’re not guessing.
What brands of battery do you stock?
We stock Varta, Endurant and Motobatt. Varta batteries are the brand European manufacturers choose to fit to their new vehicles before they leave the design factory.
Can you fit the battery while I wait?
For most cars, yes — fitting a battery is usually quick.
Do you test boat and caravan batteries too?
Yes, including deep-cycle and house batteries.
